  • Monthly fee is determined by individual customer’s location, waste amount, and agreed upon trash accessibility

    • If landscaping/contracting crews are scheduled same day as trash pickup, trash must be brought out to an accessible location.

      • Missed pickups due to inaccessibility to the trash will not be rescheduled

  • QT Disposal does not require contracts, so you are never locked into a service

    • QT Disposal requires written notice via email of desired start date

    • Termination of service requires written notice via email sent prior to receiving a current monthly billing cycle

  • QT Disposal only sends out notifications if pickup day has changed

    • Whether holiday or weather related, no news is good news.

    • When in doubt, leave the trash out.

Services Defined

  • At-the-home pickup is defined by trash containers being kept near the house, in a location where we are able to back our truck up to, like in front of a garage.

  • In the garage pickup is defined by accessing the trash containers from inside a garage. We’ve been trusted with garage and gate codes for over 30 years and have references available upon request.

  • Backyard pickup is defined by trash containers being kept in an area where we are unable to back our truck directly up to, like a backyard or on a porch.

  • All of these options give you the flexibility to “forget the curb”

    • Let us take the hassle out of trash-day!

Containers

  • We do not provide trashcans, which allows you to choose a system that best fits your needs— we have customers that purchase one large 96 gallon can, while others prefer multiple smaller cans, aesthetically appealing alternative storage, or simply using black bags.

  • We do require that all loose trash be bagged, as we use a small truck and hand load everything. So only large pieces of cardboard can remain loose in your containers.

  • You are welcome to line your smaller containers (39 gallon or smaller) with a black bag. This allows you to throw all your trash in (bagged trash and loose trash) and each week we grab the can liner and all the contents inside— this seems to be a great solution for customers who like to throw loose trash into their containers.

    • We are able to line your containers for an additional fee.

Recycling

  • There is no additional fee for recycling.

  • Trash and recycling are picked up at the same time.

  • The guidelines for the customer sort-separated method we require for recycling are available on the recycling tab or by clicking the below .

Waste Restrictions

  • Whether you choose at-the-house, backyard, or in the garage service, service is for the removal of your weekly residential trash accrual and does not include removal of excessive trash that won’t fit in your container, including waste from from construction or landscaping crews.

  • Customer may have up to one 96 gallon trash can for their weekly waste (trash + recycling + cardboard), which is the largest trashcan currently available

    • Customers who prefer having smaller trashcans are welcome to have multiple containers approximately equaling or less than 96 gallons.

    • Additional containers (exceeding 96 gallons per weekly pickup) are permitted for an additional fee. Please email or call for more details.

  • No excessively heavy trash bags or boxes.

    • All QT Disposal employees (including females) must be able to hand throw trash bags and boxes over a 6 foot clearance. When possible, please be considerate of this.

  • We understand that from week to week your trash load may vary, so along with the container system you use, you may additionally have 2 extra black bags.

  • As stated above, we do require that all loose trash be bagged, so only large pieces of cardboard can remain loose in or outside of your containers.

Special Pickups

  • If you ever have a need for a larger trash pickup that is more than normal weekly trash accumulation, we are able to offer special pickups. This is a great solution for cleanups after a home DIY project, moving in/out, garage clear outs, clutter purging, etc.

  • You may call, text, or email us for a quote and to set a date. We’d be happy to help!

  • At this time, we are only offering special pickups as an additional service to our weekly residential customers in need.

  • We do not rent out dumpsters but a local company in Charlottesville is is able to offer 3 day small dumpster rentals starting at $200. Call, email, or text for this recommendation.

Don’t Pay While You’re Away

  • We do not charge while you are away, which is a great solution for my customers who often travel.

  • If you would like more information concerning these guidelines, please let us know!

    • In order to receive a reduction in the monthly invoice, written communication from the customer must be submitted 30 days prior to away dates.

Billing

  • Invoices are emailed electronically on the first of every month, and are due by the 25th for the current month of service.

  • Customers may pay emailed invoices with ACH bank transfer or may mail in checks to:

    • Quality Trash Disposal P.O. Box 91 Quinque, Va 22965

  • Customers may over-pay their account in advance to receive fewer invoices.

    • Invoices are only sent when there is a current balance due.

Weather and Snow Policy

  • Automated voice messaged and emails are only sent out if the customer’s pickup day has changed

    • Store 434-981-3123 as QT Disposal in your phone to avoid important phone messages being falsely identified as “spam”.

  • The customer is responsible for ensuring his driveway is accessible, with adequate turn around for at-the-house trash pickup.

    • All driving and walking access to trash must be clear of snow

    • Quality Trash Disposal will not risk safety by attempting to drive on any driveways that have not been properly plowed, have not been plowed wide enough, or by walking over snow or ice to access trash

      • Customers should request their plowing company plow “a car width and a half”, as our trucks are wider than standards car-tracks.

  • If a customer’s driveway is inaccessible due to snow, the customer must bring his trash to the closest accessible road if he desires pickup

    • Customers must bring trash to an area where Quality Trash Disposal is able to walk on dry ground

    • Missed pickups due to inaccessible trash will not be rescheduled

  • If a customer prefers not to bring his trash to the closest accessible road, he is welcome to wait and resume normal at-the-house pickup the following week.

  • If a customer knows his driveway is inaccessible due to snow and is able to call, text, or email as a courtesy, it is appreciated but not required.
